WIP : Linux support! : Soywiz's Psp Emulator 2012-04-27 (r264)

I am making public a WIP and unstable version because this is the first version "supporting" linux. The support is still very experimental, so please, report any problems with this version.

Also it includes some fixes on windows/linux versions and includes a new iso manager for windows:

Please, download this version and report any regression bugs related to this new version.

Linux instructions:

To use it on linux you will need to have MONO installed.

To run the emulator:
mono ./CSPspEmu.exe

On fedora (I have tested it on Fedora 15 LoveCook):
yum install mono-core 

If you get an error related to not being able to load gdiplus.dll, try:
ln -s /usr/lib64/libgdiplus.so.0 /usr/lib64/libgdiplus.so
yum install mono-devel

On ubuntu:
apt-get install mono-runtime libmono-winforms2.0-cil mesa-common-dev mesa-utils mesa-utils-extra

  1. Very nice ! Are you using WinForms for Linux or have you made a port with GTK# ?

  2. I can't run this version on Win 7. I get a don't send error.
    My pc is good enough for this emu, and i can run all versions before this one..
    What's that about?

  3. Yannick: Winforms at this moment. I will use Gtk# later. But it will require an extra effort, maintaining both versions.

    Srdjan: You mean that it crashes when opening? I think I compiled this WIP for x64. Maybe you have a 32-bits Windows? Though I meant to compile it for any platform.

  4. This send error appear when starting the app? Because in my Win 7 it runs. Anyway Dracula X is crashing on load and the app stop working before i can copy the error lines. The interesting is...that there's no red lines in this case. If you want I can try uploading a screen of it.

  5. Soywiz-sam, which would be the minimum requirements for this emulator?, Requires more than the Jpcsp or does not have support for work after the optimization

  6. Sorry for the delay!

    The Dracula X problem have been fixed. But anyaway it seems that there are still problems with the mpeg stuff. That build also was built for x64, and there was still a bit unstable. Now I have improved it a bit.

    If you run compilerPerf demo, it is (generally) a bit faster on this emulator. And there is still lots of things to optimize. The exact computer requirements depends on the game to run. But I will work on getting things working on lowend computers.

  7. Even knowing it was built for x64, the thought it will stop working like that haven't passed through my mind. Anyway, thanks for the answer and good luck, I'll be waiting for the next 32 bits build.

  8. i tried running it under ubuntu 64bit and got the main ui window showing up, but had some popup & console errors about problems with initializing some encryption stuff when trying to run something

  9. i gave another game a go and it ran fine, so for ubuntu x64 i can confirm this works (at least to run homebrew)
